How is this different from a traditional law firm engagement?
We are engaged for your compliance function as a whole, not for one-off matters: we monitor changes, maintain your documentation and report to management regularly – as an in-house compliance function would.
Do we need an internal whistleblowing system?
Under Hungarian Act XXV of 2023, as a general rule employers with 50 or more employees; in certain sectors – such as financial services and entities subject to AML law – regardless of headcount. We clarify your specific obligations during the review.
What does it cost?
The first 30-minute call is free. The Safety Net entry package starts at HUF 150,000 + VAT per month, the ongoing compliance packages at HUF 389,000 + VAT per month. We send the detailed terms sheet on request, and tailored needs get a tailored proposal.
Do we need to hire new staff?
No. The service fits into the company's organisation: we build on existing processes and responsible staff and provide professional guidance. For example, in bank KYC processes or when identifying ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs) in complex ownership structures, we set the criteria and review the outcome.
Does it replace our in-house compliance officer?
Depending on the area and the client's needs, it can fully replace or complement them. Where the law requires a company's own employee or manager to be designated – for example the designated person under the Hungarian AML Act – we provide professional support to that person rather than replacing them. For supervised financial institutions, outsourcing follows supervisory rules and the management body remains responsible.
Does the AI Act apply to us?
Most likely yes, if the company uses any AI tool. The EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) imposes obligations not only on developers but also on companies deploying AI systems; the rules on prohibited practices and staff AI literacy have applied since 2 February 2025, with further obligations phasing in.
How do you use AI, and what happens to the company's data?
AI-based tools help speed up our work, and every result is reviewed by an expert. Only content needed for the task – anonymised or non-personal – goes into an AI tool; we do not upload client-identifying data. The company's data remains protected and subject to attorney confidentiality.
Do you also support listed companies or those preparing for listing?
Yes. In capital markets compliance we support issuers from handling inside information and maintaining insider lists to notifying managers' transactions and meeting disclosure obligations – before and after listing.
Where is our data handled?
Our website runs in the European Union, in Clever Cloud's Paris data centre. During an engagement, documents are exchanged via Tresorit with end-to-end encryption; all materials shared are protected by attorney confidentiality.
